Ok, I've cleaned a few more of my reels, and i'm getting a lot of dirt and excess dye off of them...good! I haven't gotten around to ordering those flannel cleaning rolls..but I got the idea to use those hand Pledge "grab its"...not the floor kind, but the handheld kind...unscented, with no cleaners added...just the cloth..they are so ultra soft, i thought...why not? I can't tell if they are scratching my films, because the films I'm cleaning are older than dirt (no pun intended!)..but it seems to me if I trust these babys on my nice coffee table...they should be ok for cleaning film...anybody else try this? I am getting better at it....the first reel, i went too fast, and didn't let it dry before going on to the next section...the next time, i went a lot slower, and got much better results!

MIkey B, some enterprising person should set-up a webcam and webcast your Super-8 efforts.
Good points about making sure the film is dry before it is spooled back up.
